Overcoming Return-to-Duty Challenges
Many clients feel overwhelmed, anxious, or confused about the evaluation process after being removed from a safety-sensitive position. They often struggle to understand what's expected of them, how long the process will take, and who to trust. I help take the guesswork out of it with clear communication, professional support, and step-by-step guidance from start to finish at Back on Track Counseling Pllc.

A Personalized Approach to Your Return
I take a personalized, one-on-one approach to every return-to-duty case at Back on Track Counseling Pllc. As a qualified SAP and licensed addiction counselor, I combine clinical insight with clear, DOT-compliant structure, making sure you're supported, not just processed. I treat each client with respect, transparency, and zero judgment, so you feel informed and guided through every step of the return-to-duty work journey.

The Return-to-Duty Process Explained
The return-to-duty process begins when your designated employer representative (DER) reports a drug or alcohol violation to the FMCSA clearinghouse. From there, you're required to select a SAP (like me) and reach out for a consultation. This allows us both to make sure we are a good fit and you do not have a working relationship with another SAP. It is crucial to understand that once you have designated a SAP you cannot seek out another one. Once you are certain I am the right fit, the next step will be to officially designate me in the clearinghouse.
Before we meet, you'll complete assessments and legal forms. During the initial in-person session, we'll talk through the circumstances of your DOT violation, relevant history, and gather in-depth information overall. Based on all the information from your assessments and the initial evaluation, I'll provide a personalized treatment and/or education plan you'll need to complete to move forward.
Once the education and/or treatment plan is completed, we'll meet again for a final in-person evaluation to determine if you're eligible to return to duty. If you're compliant and have successfully met all requirements, I'll update the clearinghouse and notify your employer of your status.
It is likely you will have continuing care recommendations upon returning to work and those requirements must also be satisfied.
